PI-KEM and PI-KEM Hart nickel oxides are used by a variety of industries, including ceramics, electronics, energy, and aerospace. They are known for their high quality, reliability, and performance.
We supply nickel oxide in three formulations:
- Green Nickel Oxide (NiO)
- Black Nickel Oxide (Ni2O3)
- Brown Nickel Oxide (NiO)
Each has its own characteristics and applications (See product overview below). Green and Brown Nickel Oxide are available in ‘A’ and ‘F’ size ranges.
Applications of nickel oxide include:
- Solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) and Solid oxide electrolyser cells (SOECs): As the cathode material
- Thermistors: As the sensing element in thermistors
- Catalysts: As a catalyst in a variety of chemical reactions, including hydrogen production, methane reforming, and carbon monoxide oxidation
- Glass and ceramic colouring: Used as pigment for glass and ceramics in a variety of shades of brown and green
- Batteries: Used as the cathode material in nickel-cadmium (NiCd) and nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) batteries
- Fuel cells: Used as the anode material in direct methanol fuel cells (DMFCs)
