Project Complete: Pouch Cell Pilot Line delivered in Poznań, Poland.
We are proud to announce that PI-KEM Ltd has successfully completed our three-year project to deliver the largest Pouch Cell Pilot Line in Eastern Europe for Łukasiewicz – IMN | Centre for Electrochemical Energy Storage in Poznań, Poland - a major milestone for advanced battery research in the region.
Co-financed by Poland’s Ministry of Science and Higher Education, this unique R&D facility is the only one of its kind in Poland and among just a few in Europe, dedicated to next-generation lithium cell research, development, and prototyping.
Working closely with our long-term partners at MTI Corporation, PI-KEM supported the project from concept to completion, providing pre-project consultation and pre-installation guidance, followed by full on-site installation, where The PI-KEM team (including Fiona Rouse, Colin Rouse, Adam Gadsby, and Geoffrey Handley-Harrison) worked alongside Mariusz Walkowiak, Emilia Ciechanowicz, and Kamil Frączek to unpack, verify and commission the equipment. Comprehensive onboarding training was then delivered by Dr Hui Li and Andy Huang from MTI Corporation.
Fiona Rouse, Director at PI-KEM Ltd, commented:
“Congratulations to everyone involved in delivering this outstanding facility. This project reflects the strength of long-term collaboration, technical expertise, and shared ambition. We are incredibly proud to have supported Łukasiewicz-IMN in creating a pilot line of strategic importance for battery research in Poland and across Europe.”
This has been an incredibly exciting project to be part of, transforming a large, empty laboratory into a fully operational pouch cell battery research and testing facility. We look forward to continuing our collaboration with Mariusz Walkowiak, Emilia Ciechanowicz, Kamil Frączek, and their wider team, supporting their future plans and delivering further projects with customers across Eastern Europe.
