It’s time 2… communicate!
We recently enjoyed our first team development day of 2026, focusing on communication – hosted at the Tamworth District Activity Centre!
The day was packed with engaging activities designed to bring the PI-KEM team together and inspire reflection on how we work.
Kicking things off, teams put their problem-solving skills to the test with a murder mystery challenge - a great way to get everyone thinking creatively and collaboratively from the off!
Next up, the competitive spirit truly came alive with our bonfire baking challenge. Teams were handed a surprise bag of ingredients and tasked with creating a sweet dessert - cooked over an open fire (manned by Adam Gadsby – our Health & Safety chief!) The results were impressive (but not so delicious), and it was a fantastic reminder of what we can achieve when we work together under pressure.
After a well-earned delicious lunch of jacket potatoes provided by So Catering, the team took part in our team 'Goldfish Bowl' activity - an open and honest conversation about the day to day challenges eachteam may come across and the opportunities we have to grow and improve. Sessions like this are invaluable; real dialogue leads to real progress.
The day wrapped up with time to reflect, communicate, and make meaningful commitments within our departmental teams - as well as a LinkedIn Masterclass delivered by Kate Curry from Cudos Creative, which gave the whole team some brilliant insights into the platform.
Days like these are a reminder of the importance of investing in our people and our culture. We come back sharper, more connected, and more motivated than ever.
Thank you to everyone who took part and made it such a fun, memorable day!
