We were proud to sponsor the Public Engagement / STEM Outreach (Team Award) at The Faraday Institution Community Awards, September 2025.

A huge Congratulations to the UCell outreach team who won this award.

Made up of passionate early career researchers and currently led by Isabel Antony, the UCell team has shown outstanding creativity and commitment in engaging the public through hands-on activities, including powering festival stages with their own hybrid fuel cell/battery device.

In the past year alone, they’ve reached over 14,000 people at events including Cheltenham Science Festival, Glastonbury, the Festival of Engineering, and Green Man Festival.

Congratulations to the team: Isabel Antony, Lauren Bennett, Kofi Coke, Matthew Tudball, Joshua Cruddos, Arthur Fordham, Thomas Gill, Charlie Kirchner-Burles, Alice Llewellyn, Hannah Lynn, Callum Chisnall, Brandon Frost, Shunli He, Iain Malone, Shangwei Zhou, Andrea Friso, William Hayes, Sion Lewis and Rakin Gilani.

Colin Rouse (Our MD): I was privileged to meet some of this amazing UCell outreach team at The Faraday Institution conference awards. STEM is at the core of PI-KEM Ltd and we were honored to sponsor the award for Public Engagement/STEM Outreach (Team). What deserving winners - such enthusiastic and inspirational students!

After sponsoring the original award at the conference, our MD Colin Rouse, was struck by the team's enthusiasm and dedication. While the formal award was presented to their lead Isabel Antony, we wanted to ensure the entire group each had something to mark their collective achievement. With Isabel’s support, we commissioned bespoke PI-KEM Ltd awards and were delighted to present them to the wider team - cue group picture! From powering festival stages with their hybrid fuel cell/battery device, through to engaging more than 14,000 people across major UK events, the UCell team’s outreach continues to inspire and energise the STEM community.

The Winning Team holding their bespoke PI-KEM Ltd awards.
