Nickel-Coated Fibres

Combining strength, lightness and electrical conductivity
PI-KEM Ltd supply Nickel-Coated Fibres, engineered through an advanced coating process to combine strength, lightness and electrical conductivity
Engineered through a specialised coating process from Conductive Composites, and distributed through Novamet, the NiFibres combine strength, lightness and electrical conductivity.

Each filament has a uniform coating of high purity (99.9%) ductile nickel, ensuring smooth finishes and superior handling quality. They are designed for high performance applications, demonstrating an ultimate strength of at least 400 Ksi. The fibres come in precise lengths and offer easy dispersion, overall creating a very effective and economical conductive additive. Available in a wide range of fibre lengths, base fibres and nickel coating levels, ideal for both commercial and defence applications.

Nickel coated fibres have a range of applications:

  • High conductivity contributes to excellent EMI/RFI shielding applications, as well as use in conductive gaskets and sealants
  • Can easily be dispersed into a range of coating types, with high conductivity at low loading
  • Good flow properties, high conductivity and small robust fibre-based conductors allow for good detail replication in molding
  • Suitable for additive manufacturing processes, with high conductivity at low loading
  • Can be added to adhesives to boost conductivity with low volume loading, also retaining the fibre strength properties
  • Corrosion resistant and physically robust conductors
